Betek Boya ve Kimya Sanayi A.Ž., who is also well known
with Filli Boya brand, was founded in 1988. Taking its
name from the first syllables of the Turkish words
“Beton” (meaning “concrete”) and “Teknoloji” (meaning
“technology”), it developed quality products at the
field of construction materials at its first years. With
its products being admired and preferred and thus
achieving serious sales volumes, it was decided to
launch the production of construction paints as a result
of researches intended for new markets.
Prior to
entering into construction paints field, it started a
study examining this field in detail at 1991-1992. As a
result of this study, it found out that there were
products produced with a technology a long way off
complying European standards in Turkish paint sector and
the sector was needing new products.
Filli Boya
stepped in the construction paints field in 1993 through
its technological cooperation with the biggest paint
brand Caparol. This partnership of two companies became
a milestone both for Filli Boya and the Turkish paint
sector. Turkey became acquainted with a brand new brand
and acquired the technological abundance of the biggest
paint brand in Europe. Filli Boya, which is the first
Turkish paint company commenced production with a
European partner, realized the first foreign capital
inflow to the paint sector and other Turkish paint
companies followed.
Up to present, by putting the
products manufactured by the cutting edge technology but
unknown for Turkish paint sector on to the market, Betek
A.Ž., acquired the identity of “innovative brand making
quality production”. Filli Boya became the strongest
company of the paint sector in a very short time and in
such a manner that was taken as an example; by 2001 it
acquired the market leadership leaving behind the
long-established companies and still maintains it.
According to the yearly “Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial
Enterprises” survey of Istanbul Chamber of Industry,
Filli Boya, preserving its growth trend and leaving
behind all other paint companies, moved up from 123th to
114th place in the list and from 113th to 105th in the
sorting of Private Industrial Enterprises.
In 2004,
in addition to Kaynarca Plant built on an area of 24.000
m², it started production at Gebze Plant, which is the
biggest plant of our country and possesses the highest
technology, built on an area of 103.500m² with a closed
area of 43.190m² and whose yearly production capacity is
150 thousands of tones.
With its 8 district
directorates, 8 distric chief offices, over 5,000
selling points throughout the country, 900 employees and
a turnover of 295 million YTL ex VAT in 2005, it
consolidated and carried forward its sector leadership
and achieved a 160,000 tones of production. |
